As the lakes freeze over in the Moses Lake region of Washington, many anglers store their boats until spring and instead load their children’s snow sleds with all the gear they will need for a day on the frozen lake. Blue Heron Park, located about 5 miles outside of downtown Moses Lake, is an excellent place to have a day on a frozen lake. With thick ice, now is the time to safely enjoy the lake during the winter.

On Sunday you can try Trough Creek State Park in the Raystown regions login about an hour and a half from Johnstown. There will be a Stream Study program at the park at 10:00 am. Bring the family out to see what lives in the Great Trough Creek. The program is being held by the stream near Pavilion #1. In the afternoon, the program turns to backyard critters with Test Your Knowledge at 1:30 pm. In between programs, take some time to explore one of Pennsylvania’s hidden treasures.
